SOCIAL MEDIA

If we can get serious for a second

Tuesday, March 31, 2015
Real spontaneous quick post explaining why my blog basically went back to the default layout.

I did that. Because I'm not going to be on this blog for a few months after Thursday. I'll still make my weekly Wednesday and Thursday posts, but after that, I'm done. It's not for forever, I'll be back in mid August or so, but until then I won't have anything electronic with me nor will I be on my social media.

Where am I going?

Well, I'll still be in Utah. In fact, I actually will still be where I am. But I won't be at my house. I'm going somewhere that will help me with a lot of things going on in my personal life, things that I haven't told everyone and things that I won't tell everyone. Because it's personal. But it's also not bad. In fact, it's probably the furthest from bad. I realized recently that I want to really be serious about certain things in my life, and this is what I need to do.

I think I'll have a good time. There are a lot of fun things to do where I'll be going. And it's not some classified information, I can definitely explain where I'm going, but I just don't want to spew it for literally anyone to read. Because it's about my personal life.

But I'll be okay. I have no doubt I'll be okay. I would not be doing this if I wouldn't be okay.

My friends will be running my social media (Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, etc), and I told them to post on here if they wanted, so you may see a post or two from one of them. They're really cool people. They're a lot like me. So... maybe they're a little crazy. (; jk jk jk jk jk. But really.

Three more days.

Thankful Thursday

Friday, March 27, 2015
Even though I'm not in the best of moods, I must press on. Because, like... that's what you do, right?

Right.

  • Having the best two jobs ever. Thankfully while I'm gone, I'll still be making a little money even though I won't actually be doing anything. It's super complicated, but knowing that I'll be taken care of it real nice.
  • Starbucks, for always making sure I look awake.
  • YouTube, for showing me that girls often show off their Bath & Body Works collections! Honestly, those are my new favorite videos. Even though I've worked there twice at different locations, I honestly don't have a huge collection of them. Maybe before I leave I'll post a picture of what I have. TO ME, I don't think it's that much.
  • Ship names. Honestly, without ships, there would be no Brooklilannah, Calily, Austily, or Lilierra, among many others (shoutout to all the people that I mentioned AKA Brooklyn, Hannah, Callie, Austin, and Sierra!). It's like your own little inside joke.
  • My sister for being so understanding and listening to my older sister rants that I spill to her. I don't know where I'd be without her. Seriously, the best little sister ever.
  • Having the best best friend adventures.
  • The Festival of Colors this weekend (really going out with a bang!).

That's about it this week.

My thankfuls sound a little lame this week to me, but I'm honestly not in the best of moods, as I said above. But I'm going into the last week of being here before I leave. I leave next Friday on the 3rd and I feel like I have so many more things to do, even though I really don't think I do. Just some more real last minute things.

But I'll have enough time to supply another Wednesday blog and Thursday blog, so at least that'll happen.

What I Wore Wednesday + other cool stuff!

Thursday, March 26, 2015
HI.

I don't know, I've been saying "hi" a lot lately. Whether that's just in general saying "hi" to people, but I notice it more in texts, and in text posts and statuses on Tumblr and Facebook and in captions on Instagram. Who knows. You know that "it takes X days for a habit to form" saying? Well.. it probably only takes me like, two days.

Okay. Cool.

What I wore today!

Shirt: $44 at Lilly Pulitzer. Find it here (and in cute other patterns!).
Jeans (have I worn and blogged about pants before or am I only in dresses and skirts?): $46.99 at SexyModest. Find them here.
Shoes: $34.99 at ModCloth. Find them here.
Earrings*: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find them here.
Necklace: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Necklace**: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Bracelet: SOLD OUT. But $24.99 at ModCloth. Find it here, regardless.
Bracelet***: $19.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Bracelet: $14.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Bracelet: SOLD OUT. But $19.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.

Lots of things have happened since I last blogged!

I came back home, and I'm making last minute preparations before I leave in early April. I'm leaving in early April, yes, however I will be in Utah. I actually won't be far from where I live, honestly. I'm squashing the rumors that I'm going on a mission, because I'm not. If you feel inclined to think that I am, then feel free to think so. I'm basically going to be cut off from everyone and won't have social media.

Long story short, I'm dealing with a lot of personal things and I'll be going to a place that'll help me out majorly. I'm super scared, nervous, anxious, and excited. But it means I'll be away for four months. On most, if not all of social media platforms, they'll still remain active. I have a couple sitters for a couple different things. This blog though... I'm not too sure what'll be on it while I'm gone. But I trust the people who'll be sitting for me.

Yesterday, I had quite a bit of fun.

Today, I also had quite a bit of fun. That included some spending. #$$$$$

Yesterday, I got this beauty.

It was legit like, $18.47 at my Walmart that I picked up real quick. I really like the pattern. Like a lot. And the little gold logo thing is cute. If you can see, the two things poking out of it are a box of tissues and a little bag that contained a Starbucks cake pop (both purchased today, and that cake pop was a salted caramel cake pop and yes it was fab). I bought a bag yesterday and it's already filled with random things, money, receipts, and everything else under the sun.

Go figure.

I also ventured to Bath & Body Works (not the location I previously worked out) to do some window shopping. Yeah, window shopping that turned into me taking advantage of the 'Buy 3 Get 3 Free or Buy 2 Get 1 Free' deal that they've got going on. And NO, I didn't buy my usual scent! I branched out some more and got two new scents to me!

And no, clearly this collage is not in order. Thank my collage app for that.

The last one on here, the Twilight Woods diamond shimmer mist, is unavailable online, just as an aside. Also, there are seven items in that collage (that was adorably cutified, and yes, I still think "cutify" should be a word) and if I did the Buy 3 Get 3, why should I have seven? 3+3=7. Well, Laurel snuck the Japanese Cherry Blossom diamond shimmer mist into her purchases so technically she bought it. I bought all the rest. I'm a little bit upset that I didn't get the lotion version of Twilight Woods, but I have the body cream, so I'm not complaining all that much.

Also: I had to make a Starbucks run at the end. And WOW, am I glad I did. Because... this exists, apparently.

That is a Birthday Cake Frappuccino. I. Know. It's a Vanilla Bean Frap plus hazelnut, with raspberry whipped cream, with sprinkles. I. know. It was so cute and it honestly did taste like a birthday cake. I definitely didn't drink all of it, but Laurel gladly finished it for me. Not pictured was the salted caramel cake pop I enjoyed myself.

And now I end this wonderful Wednesday post!

* = I can't tell if those are Chinese or Japanese symbols? Unsure.
** = I got this necklace specifically because I was a band geek in high school and one time during field show season, I had to play the Triangle. IRONY IS AWESOME. So is band. Join band.
*** = Okay I really like cameos.

The long overdue. Plus analogies

Friday, March 20, 2015
That stellar moment when you combine two posts in one and then talk about analogies. But hey, that's what I'm here for. Y'all should see the blog I keep private! Haha.

Today I wore pretty much nothing, and I mean that in the sense that I wore basically one outfit the entire day. And I went by myself to the pool to lounge around like the mermaid I am.

Really. I am a mermaid.

And what this mermaid wore around the hotel room today was:

Shirt: $24.99 at SexyModest. Find it here.
Skirt: Has already been blogged about, but if you need your memory refreshed; $22.99 at SexyModest. Find it here.
Bracelet: $12.99 at SexyModest. Find it here.

This little mermaid did take a stroll down to the pool in the afternoon. That outfit (hardly called an outfit) is here:

Swimsuit/swim dress: $114.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Coverup: again, already blogged about, but $24.99 at SexyModest. Find it here.
Sandals: $7.99 at Charlotte Russe. Find them here.

Now that that's out of the way! Here we go on Thankful Thursday.

  • For the warm and still cloudy weather that I've been experiencing.
  • For best friends who accept and understand the life choices I'm making.
  • For colleges to have sororities.
  • For me going to join a sorority (talk about life choices, eh?).
  • The reassuring thought that everything is going to be okay.
  • That I've been living in Utah (again) for a year as of today (the 19th). Boy howdee, let me tell you the last year of my life hasn't been the best!
  • That life can always turn a 180 and point you in the right direction.
  • And for stud muffins.
Love y'all.

Hi!

Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Okay, I know today is Wednesday. And I usually make that a "What I Wore Wednesday" day, but honestly... I wore a lot of things today. I changed my outfits several times to go to several places, as I am on vacation in a warm climate and went from sun clothes to bathing suits to regular lounge clothes to formal dinner clothes.

I've been wearing at least three outfits since I/we (my best friend Hannah) got here. However, I'm making sure that tomorrow is a "relax" day, so I'll most likely be wearing one constant outfit that I'll post tomorrow. Plus I have no idea where I got most of the clothes I wear. But if anyone's genuinely curious about where I shop, my go to places are Target, Walmart, Anthropologie, ModCloth, Charlotte Russe (BEST place for dresses), and SexyModest.

Plus I can merge it with a Thankful Thursday post, and my my my are there a lot of things for me to say what I'm thankful for this week! It'll be a fun post (probably), I promise.

Granted... if anyone actually reads this thing? I've gotten quite a good amount of hits and views, but does anyone honestly check my blog? It'd be so rad if people did, but even if people don't, I'm okay with it. Even if just my words reach me, I know it's worth it.

Thankful Thursdays, Hauls, and Favorite Bands

Friday, March 13, 2015
Like if I couldn't be more random with what I'm going to blog about tonight.

Or "tonizzight" if you're my best friend Hannah.

But this is probably going to be a long post. Because I have to talk about what I'm thankful for, post about the cool stuff I bought/what arrived in the mail, and my favorite band. Because it's so great when your favorite band finally does something after years (literally) of telling them to.

Such a breath of fresh air.

Anyway, here's what I'm thankful for this week (in Hannah language: 'wizzeak'):

  • My mom for being the most hilarious texter ever (she's still sick but she's doing a little better; prayers are wonderful!).
  • Benadryl, for making sure I don't sneeze every second of the day and for clearing my nose. You da real MVP, boss.
  • I said this last week, but for amazingly adorable missionary boys. I mean, enough said, but he's honestly so great and I have massive heart eyes for him. Like... massive. I haven't been this happy in over a year. I truly have the best people in my life.
  • The weather slowly getting warmer. I hate hot weather and love cold weather, but I am liking not having to dress up in layers and wear leggings and pants a lot of the time. I'm in search of more skirts and sandals these days. It's extremely refreshing.
  • That my Psoriasis hasn't flared up lately (what's that, you may ask? Click here for info). Just watch, now it's going to flare up. -__- (and I cannot stress it enough, it is NOT contagious! You will NOT catch it from me; it doesn't work that way!)
Next, I have a haul. Yes, I got to treat myself to some more retail therapy before I left for Norway (spoiler alert, I had a very grand time) and the boxes were waiting for me when I got home! This time I ordered through ModCloth, one of my favorite brands. They get new stuff in pretty much every day, which is great, but it sucks because it's all super cute things and I feel like I shop there every day. Which... I don't. Just when I have a little extra money.

And yeah, some of the stuff was pricey, but I had a gift certificate as well, so it brought the price down quite a bit. But I'm honestly in love with all the stuff I got. Plus it's stuff that I can also bring with me to Mexico (also I can get that super short pink dress thing I got from SexyModest, do you remember when I blogged about that?! I can finally test it out on the beach!) so I'm not complaining at all.

I also took advantage of Bath & Body Work's "Buy 3 Get 2 Free" or "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" deal that they do once in awhile. It looks like they're still doing that sale (upon checking their website).

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold on a second. Don't I work there? Why wouldn't I know this already?

Weeeeelllll..... I quit last month. I also quit my other job, so now I'm strictly a teacher and photographer.

Why would I do that?

Well, because I can. And because I'm going to address that at the end of the month when I also address the super personal thing that'll ALSO explain why I'll be inactive for... a few months.

CHILL. I'm okay. It'll all be talked about at the end of the month. Right now, just keep on reading. It'll all be okay. I promise! (:

Anyway, back to B&BW. I have a scent that I always buy and that I always wear (call it my signature scent, if you will), so I definitely stocked up on that more, but I also am trying out a new scent. I sort of want to branch out a little bit, so I got two things of a different scent, and four things in my signature scent.

Also: These pictures come courtesy of my iPhone and then collaging them. ~*so artsy*~

1. Sea Island Cotton shower gel. [x]
2. Sea Island Cotton body cream. [x]
3. Sea Island Cotton fragrance mist. [x]
4. Sea Island Cotton body lotion. [x]
5. Dark Kiss body cream. [x]
6. Dark Kiss fragrance mist. [x]

I think you're able to tell which one I love wearing and which one I'm just trying out. I just love how Sea Island Cotton smells. It smells like summertime and the beach. It smells like vacation. I didn't wear too much fragrance mist/perfume or lotion too much until about... last summer. I had had a few lotions from Bath (I had Maui Hibiscus Beach and Violet Lily Sky), but I didn't really use them. Then when I started working there at a different store last summer, I really started getting into it.

And now Sea Island Cotton is like... my jam. I have a travel sized portion of the fragrance mist and lotion and I take those with me when I travel because I'm not allowed to take the bigger containers, blah blah blah thanks TSA, but at least I'm able to have some at all (......thanks, TSA....). So no real complaints.

Also: I've tried Dark Kiss out. I sprayed a little of the mist earlier today, and I kind of like it. The body cream is pretty strong. At first it smelled like cotton candy, but then it started to smell sort of fruity. But after a few hours, it's gone back to smelling like cotton candy. I'm pretty iffy on it right now, so we'll see how I feel once I've really broken it in.

**It should be noted that Dark Kiss is only available online, so don't go to your local B&BW looking for it because you won't!

Last, but certainly not least: My favorite band.

Muse is my favorite band. I feel like anyone who knows me knows that by now. Taylor Swift is another love of mine, but she isn't a band. She's an artist. Muse is truly my favorite band. I've been emotionally invested in that stupid band for going on TEN years. I own pretty much every single album, EP, and single that they've put out on both CD format and vinyl format. And yes, I own a record player.

I have a picture of my Muse collection on my personal Facebook. It's huge. To me, it's perfection. To anyone else, it's probably disgusting.

I've been crying at them to put out new material for awhile now, and THEY FINALLY HAVE PUT OUT NEW MATERIAL.

Their seventh album, Drones (click here), is coming out in June. The theme of the album is apparently going to be about "deep ecology, the empathy gap, and World War 3". I mean... I probably believe it. The political side of them is amazing, and no.. they aren't American, if you live under a rock and don't know who they are. They're a British trio.

Their single 'Psycho' is like.... mindblowing.

The lyric video can be found here.

Needless to say... I have no doubt that the American tour is going to be awesome. They've released dates already, but it's on their side of the ocean. Muse always does really killer stuff at their shows (and I've honestly seen them live too many times I count. I want to say I've seen them six times) and I feel like this is going to be super epic.

And now that I've talked about all the things I wanted to, and included a billion links to a billion different things, I think I'm done talking!

Free fallin'

Saturday, March 7, 2015
ANNOUNCEMENT!

Blogging will be halted temporarily.

While I tend to matters such as going on vacation. Twice.

In about a half hour, I will be en route to Norway with my good friend Austin. I'll be there for about a week. And then a few days after that, I'll be in Mexico with my best friend Hannah as sort of a late winter break thing. We wanted to do something then, but we weren't able to settle on dates because our schedules majorly clashed with one another.

So Mexico was our rain check. And if anyone's wondering, yes, I'm actually paying out of pocket for that vacation. One third me, one third Hannah, one third Hannah's family. I don't always get the luxury of traveling for free. I enjoyed that while it lasted! (;

But after I get back from Mexico, I have a majorly massive announcement to make that's bigger than this. That doesn't really include traveling. It's an extremely huge life decision that I've chose, and we'll see where it takes me. And I'm actually a little scared to talk about it still. That's why I'm stalling until the end of the month.

But until then, my life is going to be fun and full of travel.

xx

Thankful Thursday

Friday, March 6, 2015

  • I'm thankful for Snapchat (okay, this sounds a little stupid, but I LOVE seeing what my boyfriend/future husband Zach Rance is doing... even though he basically lives at the golf course. Srsly. Absolutely thankful for that).
  • I'm thankful for having a college education that will advance.
  • I'm thankful for massive (and I'm talking... MASSIVE) life changes (more on that in a different post. Maybe that'll be what I post next).
  • I'm thankful for constant support from friends.
  • I'm thankful for having good driving skills (albeit I'm unable to drive stick).
  • I'm thankful for adorable missionary boys finally emailing you back after four weeks of nothing.
  • I'm thankful for my sister's amazing smoothie recipes and in turn, making freaking YUMMY smoothie bowls.
What's a smoothie bowl, you may ask?

Check it here!

They're my new favorite thing in the world. And I am LOVING numbers one and six on that website. Each one has a click through link, so try them out if you haven't! Plus it's a money saver (another thing I'm thankful for).

What I Wore Wednesday

Wednesday, March 4, 2015
I'll be real: I really didn't care how I looked today. Last night was sort of a late night for me (bar hopping and clubbing until 5:00 in the morning like always... juuust kidding, but really, it was a late night) and I didn't have an outfit picked out for today. So this morning I basically just grabbed the first things I saw. But I tried to look my best. Hopefully that turned out alright to people on here.

People today said they liked my leggings. And that's true. I love the leggings I wore today. Spoiler alert: I didn't wear black tights from Express like I usually do. (; Sorry if you bet that I did. Because you lost. But there's always next week.

While it's been warmer (bye bye, wintertime), it was cold today, but I wasn't bundled up too bad. In fact, I probably didn't look as bad as I think I did. So that's a perk!

Also while looking up what I wore today, I realize that literally every single piece of clothing and jewelry I had on today (save for my YW Medallion) came from the same place. OH WELL. I like wearing stuff from the same place. That ain't illegal. Also I wore a lot of rings today. I also enjoy wearing rings.

Even though I had no cares in the world, looking back, I do love all the pieces I wore. I feel like the leggings gave the entire outfit some flare. But I think the next time I wear those shoes, I'll have something covering my feet. Live and learn!

Jacket: $49.99 at ModCloth (they also have the same hoodie in a berry color). Find it here.
Shirt: $34.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Leggings: OUT OF STOCK but $24.99 at ModCloth. They DO re-order based on feedback from buyers, so if you want these exact ones, click on the link when I link to them. Also I'm sure if you Google around, you can find some almost like these. Find them here.
Skirt: $49.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Shoes: $49.99 at ModCloth. Find them here.
Musical instrument ring: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Ursa Major ring: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Wheel ring: $9.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
World map ring: $14.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Bracelet set (I love nautical things. They're so cute!): $24.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Necklace: $12.99 at ModCloth. Find it here.
Earrings: $9.99 at ModCloth. Find them here.

And that's what I wore today! I'm pleased to say that I'm being able to do more things with my photography which means getting more money which means more retail therapy (and bill paying, but that's not glamorous ((I literally just had to sing Fergie's song 'Glamorous' to remember how to spell it, how cute)) at all by any means) which means buying more cute things from ModCloth because LOOK at how adorable their clothes are.

Basically... be expecting another stupid* haul post where I post massive pictures (which is my blog's layout at fault there, not mine. I always select the smallest setting when I upload pictures) of things that I got.

If you're into that.

Actually, if you actively read this, PLEASE tell me things to post about if you want to see something. I can talk about my favorite music, favorite hobbies, favorite apps on my phone (ooooooh, that's something!), favorite people, favorite anything, or not favorite things and just things in general.

I fashion blog because that's what I see a lot of other girls do and maybe I should give in to trends, but I don't want to bore people with the same stuff every day, you know? Email me, leave a comment, message me on Tumblr, @ me on Twitter, comment on my Instagram, anything at all to let me know!

Feedback is always welcomed!

xx

* = stupid, hah, more like stupid AWESOME!
